Head of Quality & Governance – Outstanding CQC Hospice
£43,000 - £50,000 per annum

Compass Associates are proud to be representing a hospice, based in the Northwest with an Outstanding CQC rating, in their search for a new Head of Quality & Governance. The hospice supports and cares for patients with a life limiting illness, their families, and others close to them. Provide this in a number of ways; at the hospice and in people’s own homes across our community.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will take the lead role in delivering and driving excellence in Quality and Governance across the hospice and its services. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring policies and processes are compliant with CQC standards, implementing any change required to maintain the hospice’s outstanding rating. Working in partnership with the CEO and Clinical Services Director, you will provide guidance, advice, and support in all aspects of the governance and risk agenda.

The Candidate / Role
The ideal candidate will possess a background in healthcare and have demonstrated experience in enhancing quality and governance within a private healthcare environment.
You will ensure that a robust culture of quality and governance is thoroughly integrated throughout the hospice, employing various proactive strategies to keep it a central focus of the organization.
Capable of conducting complex investigations, analysing findings, and formulating and implementing strategic business changes to maintain exemplary conduct and culture within the hospice, such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Proficient in analysing and synthesizing complex information to produce clear, informative reports for communication with staff and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Responsible for overseeing quality assurance programs, policies, and procedures, including audits, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Leading the preparation for external regulatory inspections and audits.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels are essential.
Minimum Requirements
Regulatory Framework Experience : Proven experience working within regulatory frameworks; familiarity with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards is advantageous.
Policy and Procedure Development : Expertise in developing policies and procedures in alignment with CQC standards.
Board-Level Reporting : Experienced in reporting at board, leadership, and governance levels.
Information Governance and Data Protection : Strong knowledge of Information Governance and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), with the capability to lead data protection initiatives.
Safeguarding Leadership : Preferably Level 5 Qualified as you will be the Safeguarding Lead.
Patient Safety Leadership : Experience in patient safety, with the ability to lead Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) initiatives.
Emotional Intelligence : High level of emotional awareness and sensitivity.
