Location: Greater Manchester Type: Permanent Salary: c£60,000- £65,000
A growing and highly regulated pharmaceutical organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Quality to lead its Quality function and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing, quality assurance, and quality control operations.
This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining an effective Quality Management System (QMS), leading audits and inspections, and developing a high-performing quality team. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping quality strategy while supporting operational excellence and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions across the site. • Develop and implement quality strategies aligned with business objectives. • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) and GMP compliance standards. • Lead regulatory, customer, and internal audits and inspections. • Oversee CAPA, deviations, change controls, risk management, and validation activities. • Ensure quality documentation, SOPs, and technical agreements remain inspection-ready. • Monitor and report on quality KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives. • Manage departmental budgets, resources, and succession planning. • Coach, mentor, and develop quality teams to deliver high performance.
About You
• Degree qualified in a scientific discipline. • Significant leadership experience within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment. • Strong knowledge of quality systems, regulatory compliance, validation, and risk management. • Proven experience managing audits and inspections. • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and people leadership skills. • Results-driven with a continuous improvement mindset.
