Head of Reinsurance Reserving

Our client, a leading global insurer and reinsurer with a presence in over 25 countries, are on the search for a new Head of Reinsurance Reserving.

The Role:They are seeking asomeoneto lead their actuarial reinsurance reserving team for European and Dubai operations. This senior leadership role involves managing a diverse $2.5 billion portfolio and providing crucial actuarial insights to their business units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Direct reserving activities and deliver actuarial advice.
• Team Development: Manage and mentor a team of qualified and student actuaries.
• Business Collaboration: Work closely with underwriting, claims, and finance teams.
• Process Improvement: Optimise actuarial models and processes with in-house development support.

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualifications: Qualified actuary or equivalent extensive experience.
• Experience: 10+ years in relevant roles, including 5+ years post-qualification, ideally in reinsurance reserving.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ResQ, VBA, and SQL.
• Leadership: Proven experience in managing and developing teams.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with PRA, Lloyd’s, and NBB is a plus.
