Job Description - Head of Sales

West Northamptonshire

Full-Time | Permanent

Salary: up to £60k base OTE £100k

Our client is currently seeking an experienced and driven Head of Sales to lead their commercial growth strategy. This is a fantastic opportunity for a sales professional to take ownership of the sales function within a growing and ambitious business.

Company Overview

With a growing reputation and a solid pipeline of work, the company is now looking to appoint a senior sales leader to accelerate business development and expand market presence.

Role Overview

The Head of Sales will be responsible for designing and executing the company’s sales strategy, managing high-value client relationships, and leading a small, dedicated sales team. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new opportunities, securing major contracts, and delivering revenue growth in line with company goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan across target sectors
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and maximise revenue growth within key accounts
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and consultants
  • Lead and develop the internal sales team to consistently meet and exceed targets
  • Prepare tenders, bids, and manage negotiations for large-scale contracts
  • Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and performance reports to senior leadership
Candidate Requirements
  • Extensive experience in sales leadership
  • Demonstrable success in winning contracts and growing revenue
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement ability
  • Knowledge of construction processes, project lifecycles, and tendering
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Background in quantity surveying, estimating, or project management (desirable)
