Head of School Admissions Service

I am currently representing Camden Council who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience

We are looking for a Head of School Admissions Service this role will be based at: N1C 4AG

The right candidate will:

Camden Council is seeking an experienced Head of School Admissions Service to provide senior leadership and management across the Council’s school admissions function.

* Lead and manage the Schools Admissions Service to ensure the effective delivery of all statutory admissions functions.

* Develop, implement, and review admissions policies in accordance with current legislation, the School Admissions Code, and Department for Education guidance.

* Oversee the annual admissions cycle, coordinating primary and secondary school admissions rounds.

* Provide strategic advice and guidance to senior leadership, elected members, schools, and external stakeholders on admissions matters.

* Manage school admission appeals, in-year admissions, fair access protocols, and waiting lists.

* Lead on school place planning and sufficiency, collaborating closely with education planning and commissioning teams.

We require the following:

* Significant senior-level experience leading a School Admissions Service within a London Local Authority. – Mandatory

* Proven experience managing a school admissions team and overseeing day-to-day operational delivery.

* Detailed knowledge of the School Admissions Code, statutory admissions legislation and associated guidance.
