Are you a passionate and experienced educator ready to take on the responsibility of our clients Science department. We're seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Head of Science at our well-established, forward thinking secondary school based in the Burnley area.

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Science department, providing visionary leadership and strategic direction to ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.
• Develop and implement innovative curriculum plans that align with national standards and promote the highest standards of academic achievement.
• Mentor and support departmental staff, fostering their professional growth and development through effective coaching, feedback, and training opportunities.
• Oversee the planning and delivery of engaging and interactive lessons, utilizing a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and colleagues across the school to promote cross-curricular links and enhance the overall educational experience for students.
• Take responsibility for the effective management of departmental resources, including budgets, equipment, and facilities, to ensure optimal learning outcomes.

Requirements:

• Hold a valid teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS or QTLS
• Hold a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for a new one
• Be able to work the specific full-time timetable
• Be prepared to provide general cover for other classes as needed
• Provide details of last 2 latest references, covering the last 5 years’ work history
• Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people
• Be willing to complete a face to face registration and satisfy several checks
