We are looking to appoint an experienced and visionary Head of Science to join a high-performing school in Leeds this September. This is a full-time, permanent position and an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Science Teacher looking to step into a leadership role or for an experienced Head of Department ready for a new challenge.

As Head of Science, you will oversee a thriving department that delivers Biology, Chemistry, and Physics across KS3 to KS5. You’ll lead a team of dedicated and skilled science educators, manage curriculum planning and assessment strategies, and work closely with senior leadership to drive academic excellence and innovation.

Experience and Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant science degree

• Proven leadership experience within a Science department

• Excellent subject knowledge and a sound understanding of curriculum development and assessment strategies

• Ability to motivate, inspire, and manage a team effectively

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• Legal right to work in the UK
