Job Description - Head of Service- Supported Housing

Are you an experienced Head of Service working in a supported housing setting? or are you an established Housing Services Manager looking to take the next step in your career? Are you passionate about running a service that supports victims of domestic violence and to be a voice of reason for the trauma they have experienced? if so, this is the role for you!
My client, is a well known charity that supports victims of domestic violence and provides vital support to vulnerable people within the community. They are searching for a Head of Service to join their team starting end of May 2024 on a temporary basis until March 2025.
As the Head of Service, you will be responsible for leading a team and play an integral part in ensuring the service delivery is at optimum level at all times.
Working hours- 37 per week
Hourly pay rate- 25.60 per hour Umbrella
Key Responsibilities of Head of Service ( not limited to ):
Leadership and Management
Play an active role in SLT, providing clear and regular reports and contributing to

the overall development of the charity

Ensure a culture of learning and development, ensuring your own knowledge and

practice is up to date and relevant

Ensure that services comply with the legal framework that protects the safety of

children including the Local Safeguarding Childrens Board policy and procedures

and that all members of staff understand the practical implications and

implementation of this

Jointly with other managers and CEO/DCEO, be responsible for developing and

implementing Service Delivery Plan in line with the Strategic Business

plan, contracts, and outcome framework

They will have responsibility as part of the SLT for quality assurance of

services and in ensuring contract compliance for all service contracts

Ensure that all policies and procedures under their strategic lead are regularly

reviewed, fit for purpose, and meet the quality assurance requirements of

relevant local and national service standards. Contribute to the same for other

policies and procedure

Implement, and contribute to the development of, systems and procedures that

identify and respond to the safety needs of clients and staff, ensuring service

prioritisation follows agreed internal and local protocols

Ensure that all aspects of services are delivered to an excellent standard which

are consistent with those required nationally through accrediting bodies

Ensure the effective running of all operational Services ensuring that services

keep the safety of victims of domestic abuse central to all processes

Lead on strategic and service delivery planning in your services, ensuring the

development of team and individual plans in line with organisational strategy

Monitor and review quality assurance to ensure best practice is developed and

shared across teams.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement, learning and innovation

underpinned by evidence-based research, DHRs, inspections and audits and in

accordance with company strategy and overarching plans.

Be responsible for all aspects of contract compliance, reporting and performance

reviews as well as the maintenance of standards and quality marks

Develop and maintain positive and constructive relationships with commissioners,

funders and contract managers.

Work with and consult with partners to ensure that services are appropriate, effective

and integrated within existing referral and care pathways.

Initiate and contribute to campaigns to raise awareness of DVA and its impact.

Be responsible for collating evidence to demonstrate the effectiveness of services and

to support the service to contribute locally and nationally to evidence gathering in relation

to Violence against Women and Girls.

This role requires occasional weekend and evening on call duties and some travel across services will be expected. Therefore, suitable candidates must be able to drive and have access to their own car.
The successful candidate will be fully DBS checked and will have an enhanced certificate, issued no more than 12 months prior. A DBS can be processed for candidates by Kenwood subject to suitability for the vacancy and if successful at interview.
