Job Title: Head of Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Location: East Yorkshire Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 DOE Benefits: 25 days holiday + bank holidays, private medical insurance, pension
About the Role We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Head of SHEQ to lead our safety, environmental, and quality agenda across both factory and site operations. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to embed a high-performance SHEQ culture, lead compliance efforts, and drive continuous improvement across a busy manufacturing and project-based environment.
What You'll Do
Develop and lead SHEQ strategy aligned with business objectives and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001)
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation, including CDM
Oversee internal audits, inspections, and management systems, driving corrective actions where needed
Lead a team of SHEQ professionals covering health, safety, environmental and quality disciplines
Act as the primary contact for regulatory bodies and certification audits
Support tendering and client-facing activities with SHEQ documentation and expertise
Lead proactive training, induction, and safety culture initiatives across factory, site, and subcontractors
Champion occupational health and wellbeing across the workforce
Monitor environmental impact, sustainability KPIs, and support the business journey to Net Zero
Work cross-functionally with Operations, Manufacturing, HR, and Project teams to maintain high SHEQ standards
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in a senior HSEQ/SHEQ role within manufacturing, construction, or engineering
NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent), IOSH membership, and Lead Auditor qualifications (ISO 9001/14001/45001) preferred
A collaborative and confident leader with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Deep understanding of health risk management, environmental compliance, and quality control processes
Comfortable working across strategic planning and hands-on delivery
Track record of influencing positive safety culture and continuous improvement
