Head of Working Capital - Bristol

Totum Partners is working with a leading law firm based in Bristol to recruit a Head of Working Capital, a newly created leadership role within the finance team. The Head of Working Capital will take responsibility for the firm’s global billing and collections functions, leading a team to deliver a consistent service. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of working capital operations in a firm committed to driving continuous improvement.

The ideal Head of Working Capital would be responsible for:

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the billing and collections teams

• Implementing best practice processes to support efficient cash flow and reduce aged WIP and debt

• Driving improvements in service delivery across the finance function

• Supporting the rollout of new systems and processes as part of the Finance Transformation Programme

• Coaching and developing team members through a period of change and growth

• Building strong relationships across the partnership, legal teams and support staff

• Acting as a key point of contact for working capital matters and contributing to wider finance initiatives

The ideal Head of Working Capital will have:

• Proven experience leading billing and collections functions in a professional services setting

• Legal sector experience is highly desirable

• A track record of delivering process improvement and team development

• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills

• A collaborative, hands-on approach and ability to influence at senior levels

• Commercial awareness and a focus on delivering results

• High levels of organisation and attention to detail

• Strong knowledge of financial systems, with the confidence to become a subject matter expert
