We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Year to join our school in Reading on a full-time, permanent basis starting September 2024. The ideal candidate will have a passion for student development and a commitment to enhancing the well-being and academic progress of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the year group, promoting a positive and supportive environment.


• Implement strategies to support student welfare, academic progress, and behaviour management.


• Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.


• Monitor and track student attendance, progress, and achievement, providing guidance and support as needed.


• Organize and oversee year group activities, events, and interventions to enhance student experience and engagement.

Requirements:

• Degree in Education or a related field.


• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.


• Proven experience in a pastoral or leadership role within a school setting.


• Strong understanding of safeguarding practices and student welfare.


• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
