Headteacher - Special Educational Needs

Location: Kidderminster | Salary: £56779 - £59,483 | Start Date: September 2025

Reed Education are proud to be partnering with a fantastic SEN school near Kidderminster, a vibrant and forward-thinking Special Educational Needs (SEN) school, in their search for an exceptional Headteacher to lead them into an exciting new chapter.

The school specialises in supporting pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and complex needs. The school is currently undergoing a significant redevelopment, transforming its facilities and learning environment to better serve its dedicated community. This is a pivotal moment in the school’s journey—one that calls for a visionary leader ready to shape the future.

The school prides itself on a highly personalised, holistic, and therapeutic approach to education. It’s not just about academic achievement—it’s about nurturing emotional wellbeing, communication, independence, and overall quality of life for every pupil.

They are seeking an inspirational and experienced Headteacher with a strong background in SLD and complex needs education. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and compassionate leader, capable of driving school improvement, empowering staff, and championing the unique needs and aspirations of every learner.

Key qualities we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven leadership experience within SEN settings, particularly SLD and complex needs.
  • A clear vision for inclusive, therapeutic education.
  • Knowledge of trauma-inforced practice, sensory integration, Makaton or BSL etc.
  • Strong people management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive, collaborative school culture.
  • An enhanced DBS certificate

This is a rare and rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact in a school that is truly transforming lives. If you would like further information about this position, please do press 'apply now'.

If you’re ready to lead with purpose and passion, we’d love to hear from you.
