Job Description - Health Advisory & Inquests Associate

Health Advisory & Inquests Associate - Birmingham - £60,000 DOE

My client is a leading UK law firm and they are looking to recruit a Health Advisory & Inquests Associate to join their Birmingham team.

The Role:

You will manage a varied caseload of:

Court of Protection matters (including advocacy)
Inquests, primarily for NHS clients
Opportunities to work with independent health and social care providers, as well as local authorities

You'll be joining a team of 30 specialist lawyers covering a wide range of health and social care advisory work, including:

High Court serious medical treatment cases
Mental capacity and deprivation of liberty issues
Intervenor proceedings in the Family Court
Safeguarding and welfare planning disputes
Access and funding disputes, including continuing healthcare/Individual Funding Requests
Information governance (DPA/FOI)
Judicial review and Human Rights Act claims

About You

NQ - 4 PQE solicitor with experience in Court of Protection and/or mental capacity law
Strong advocacy skills and the ability to handle sensitive cases with professionalism and empathy
A team player with a genuine interest in healthcare and social care law
