• Location: Kent (Office-based)
• Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm
• Salary: £45,000-£49,000 (Dependent on experience)

We are seeking a Health & Safety Officer who is passionate about H&S, Environmental, and Sustainability within a manufacturing context. This role offers a friendly and passionate work environment with no weekend work required.

• Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health.
• Adhere to, review, update, and communicate all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Meet statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
• Conduct and review risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
• Document, investigate accidents and implement recommended improvements.
• Carry out safety inspections, manage fire drills and alarms, and ensure compliance with safety inspections, risk assessments, and lone working procedures.
• Coordinate the development of health & safety policies, systems of work, and procedures.
• Manage the company’s Environmental & Sustainability strategy.
• Maintain accurate health and safety and training records.
• Establish documented health & safety inspections, audits, and checks.
• Provide structured health & safety training throughout the company.
• Manage Health & Safety Committee meetings, including agenda setting, chairing, and minute distribution.
• Stay updated with relevant health, safety, and welfare legislation and communicate changes to the business.
• Compile and implement the Environmental and Sustainability aspects of the business.
• Mentor and develop the Environmental and Sustainability Coordinator.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within manufacturing.
• NEBOSH (General Certificate) qualification.
• COSHH trained.
• Strong knowledge of first aid practices and emergency response procedures.
• Proficient in root cause analysis techniques.
• Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proven experience in Environmental and Facilities management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to health and safety.
