Health and Safety Advisor

Reed have partnered exclusively with a growing company based in West Sussex who are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis.

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and minimising risks associated with the overall operation. This role involves conducting regular safety audits, providing training, and collaborating with various departments to enhance safety performance.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on health and safety practices.
• Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.
• Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure the organisation is compliant with mandatory regulations.
• Lead the health and safety committee meetings and report on relevant issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor.
• Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices.
• Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety.
• Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
• Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
• Excellent organisational and motivational skills.
• Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred.
• Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH or IOSH).
