Location: Covering sites in Creswell, Chesterfield & Eggborough (occasional travel to Essex) Salary: £40,000 – £48,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits Type: Full-Time | Permanent
The Role:
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturer seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Officer to support multiple operational sites across the North of England. This is a key position for a proactive EHS professional who thrives on driving safety standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with site management and the central SHEQ team to implement and embed EHS best practice
Conduct regular internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
Lead and support the investigation of incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and ensuring corrective actions are implemented
Deliver engaging EHS training sessions and toolbox talks to staff at all levels
Monitor and report on EHS performance data, identifying trends and areas for improvement
Stay up to date with changes in legislation and best practice, ensuring ongoing compliance
Act as a key point of contact for employees regarding EHS concerns or suggestions
Maintain and review emergency response plans, including fire safety, chemical handling, and first aid procedures
What We’re Looking For:
NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification
Proven experience in a similar EHS role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong understanding of ISO management systems (45001 & 14001)
Confident in conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Knowledge of COSHH, manual handling, noise control, and employee wellbeing monitoring
Willingness to travel regularly across regional sites, with occasional travel to the South (Essex)
