Health & Safety Advisor – Highways & Civil Engineering

We are working on behalf of a well-established and growing infrastructure contractor to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor with a strong background in highways and civil engineering. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic HSE team supporting a wide range of operations including road surfacing, streetlighting, traffic management, and infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert H&S compliance advice across multiple civil engineering projects
• Conduct audits, incident investigations, and implement corrective actions
• Mentor staff at all levels to promote a positive safety culture
• Develop and review risk assessments, method statements, and procedures
• Maintain legal registers and compliance evaluations
• Collaborate with contract managers and supervisors to ensure adherence to H&S policies
• Support reporting and performance tracking for the wider QHSE team

What We’re Looking For:

• NEBOSH Construction Certificate (minimum); Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Proven experience in a similar role within highways or civil engineering
• Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and temporary works
• Confident in drafting safe systems of work and implementing site controls
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
