The Role
We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environment Manager to oversee health, safety and environmental standards across a production and office environment.
You will work closely with senior management and operational teams to promote a strong safety culture, manage risk and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support risk assessments covering both health & safety and environmental considerations across production and office areas. Identify workplace hazards and work with relevant teams to put effective control measures in place, covering areas such as fire safety, noise and equipment use. Monitor and report on Health, Safety & Environmental performance to senior management. Maintain compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements. Develop and review safe working procedures in collaboration with senior management and production teams. Support the development and implementation of Health, Safety & Environmental policies and strategies. Identify training requirements across the site and deliver appropriate internal training where required. Take the lead on accident and incident investigations, working alongside first aiders and relevant departments to ensure appropriate follow-up actions are completed. Maintain accurate records of accidents and incidents and liaise with senior management and the HSE where appropriate. Work alongside Production and Maintenance teams to ensure new and repaired machinery and equipment can be introduced safely and in line with legislation. Carry out regular workplace inspections to monitor compliance with established policies and procedures. Oversee the safe handling and disposal of hazardous substances. Manage the Value Based Safety process alongside existing risk assessment procedures. Keep up to date with relevant legislation, best practice and professional development requirements. Monitor the organisation's use of environmental resources, including water and gas, and produce relevant KPI information. Develop and support initiatives around recycling, pollution reduction and prevention. Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable environmental legislation. Implement relevant group standards, policies, reporting requirements and guidance across the site.About You
NEBOSH qualified, with an HND or degree in a relevant discipline. Previous experience within a production environment. A confident facilitator and coach with the ability to engage and motivate others. Good IT skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong communication, organisation and decision-making skills.
