Job Description - Health & Safety Coordinator

The Health & Safety Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring supporting the Health and Safety team with compliance with health and safety regulations within the engineering and manufacturing department. This position requires a proactive individual to oversee safety protocols and drive continuous improvements in a manufacturing setting.

This small-sized organisation operates within the industrial and manufacturing industry, specialising in engineering and production processes. Based in St. Helens, they are dedicated to maintaining high standards of safety and operational efficiency.

Description

As the Health & Safety Coordinator you will be tasked with the following;

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and workplace safety audits to identify potential hazards.
  • Provide clear guidance and training to employees on safety practices and compliance requirements.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, or near misses, and implement corrective actions where needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate with management and operational teams to ensure safety measures are integrated into daily processes.
  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay updated on changes to health and safety regulations that impact the industrial and manufacturing industry.

Profile

A successful Health & Safety Coordinator should have:

  • Experience in implementing safety protocols within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to the industrial and manufacturing sectors.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate safety records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and deliver training to diverse teams.
  • A proactive attitude towards identifying risks and implementing solutions.
