Rare opportunity for a Health & Safety Manager to join an organisation who genuinely promote a health work life balance. As the Corporate Property Health & Safety Manager you would lead health and safety management across a diverse portfolio of non domestic assets. Providing expert leadership and assurance on all aspects of property-related health and safety, ensuring statutory compliance and the effective management of risks associated with buildings, land, facilities operations, maintenance activities and capital projects. The successful candidate will develop and oversee risk assessments, safe systems of work, permit-to-work processes, accident and incident investigations, contractor management and CDM compliance arrangements. Working closely with senior managers, project teams and contractors, you will drive continuous improvement, promote a positive safety culture, and ensure robust monitoring, reporting and governance frameworks are in place to protect people, property and the clients reputation.

Additional duties for the position of Health & Safety Manager in Oxfordshire include:

* To provide competent, professional and proactive health and safety leadership for Corporate Property across all non-housing assets.

* Ensure effective arrangements are in place for identifying, assessing, controlling, monitoring and reporting health and safety risks associated with buildings, land, facilities operations, maintenance, minor works and capital projects.

* Development and implementation of risk assessments, safe systems of work, permits to work, accident and incident reporting, investigations, CDM arrangements, contractor management and compliance assurance.

* Provide clear advice to managers, maintain robust records and dashboards, escalate significant risks and ensure lessons learned drive improvement across the estate.

* Leading health and safety management across Corporate Property non-housing assets, ensuring statutory duties and corporate standards are met.

* Developing, reviewing and maintaining suitable and sufficient risk assessments, method statement review processes, safe systems of work and control measures for property-related activities.

* Managing and improving permit to work arrangements for higher-risk activities including hot works, roof access, confined spaces, electrical works, asbestos-related controls, excavations and other hazardous works.

* Overseeing accident, incident, near-miss and dangerous occurrence reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, RIDDOR escalation where applicable and implementation of corrective actions.

* Providing competent advice on Construction Design and Management Regulations duties, including client responsibilities, pre-construction information, construction phase plans, contractor competence and project health and safety files.

* Monitoring property compliance performance, producing regular reports and dashboards covering statutory compliance, risk actions, audits, inspections, incidents, permits, training and contractor performance.

* Provide competent health and safety advice to the Head of Corporate Property, senior managers, facilities teams, project managers and operational services using Corporate Property assets.

* Plan and undertake site inspections, audits and assurance reviews, ensuring findings are risk-rated, assigned, monitored and reported to completion.

* Maintain a Corporate Property health and safety risk register and ensure significant risks are escalated through appropriate governance, compliance and senior management routes.
