Health & Safety Supervisor

Our established client in Dover is looking for an Asbestos and H&S Supervisor

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Dover

Salary: up to £40K DOE

As Asbestos and H&S Supervisor you will:

• Undertake the role of Appointed Person Asbestos on behalf of the company
• Prepare and maintain the Asbestos Management Plan
• Plan and manage asbestos surveys and inspections, maintain & update the Asbestos Register.
• Appoint Licensed Asbestos Removal Contractors to undertake removal and/or remedial works, and to undertake surveys and periodic inspections.
• Technical oversight and supervision of project works
• Prepare training material and provide training to staff and stakeholders

• Undertake broader H&S activities:
• Promote H&S initiatives and act as an internal H&S Engineering advisor.
• Drive improvements in processes to reduce health & safety risks.
• Liaise with stakeholders to ensure engagement and commitment.
• Review RAMS, and undertake site inspections to identify opportunities
• Recommend improvements to engineering tasks

Asbestos and H&S Supervisor - Skills and Qualifications

• Technical, construction, building or trade background
• Qualified in P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings
• Relevant H&S management qualification e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS or similar.
• Conversant with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and Health & Safety Guidance (HSG) publications applicable to Asbestos.
• Understanding of Risk Management and compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards, along with working knowledge of CDM 2015.
