Working as a partnership, both Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust have a shared vision for excellence in care for our patients and communities; with a set of strategic aims underpinning how we will achieve this.
The single corporate service is delivered across both organisations. This is a site specific role however you may be required to undertake business travel between sites. For leaders managing staff across multi-site locations, you will need to be visible and provide in person leadership. The arrangements and frequency will be agreed locally.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Health and Safety Support Officer to join our friendly and supportive Health and Safety Team within the Single Corporate Service, working across Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust and Isle of Wight NHS Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in healthcare, moving and handling, training delivery or workplace health and safety who is passionate about helping others work safely and confidently.
As a key member of the team, you will support the delivery of health and safety training, moving and handling advice, ergonomic assessments and wellbeing initiatives that help create safer environments for both staff and patients. No two days are the same—you could be delivering practical training, supporting a workplace assessment, advising managers on risk reduction, or helping to develop innovative campaigns that promote healthy working practices
Specific Core Functions
You will be an excellent communicator who enjoys working with people at all levels. You'll be organised, proactive and confident delivering training and advice, with a genuine commitment to improving workplace safety and supporting others to work safely and effectively.
