Job Description - Healthcare Assistant

Healthcare Assistant


Salary: £25,000 per annum


Hours: 37.5 hours per week


Our client, a domiciliary care service, is looking for a kind, committed, and reliable Healthcare Assistant to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes, helping them live with dignity, independence, and comfort.

As part of a dedicated and friendly care team, the successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of people in the community—offering not just practical help, but emotional reassurance and a familiar, caring presence.

What We’re Looking For

  • A Level 2 qualification or higher in Health and Social Care (essential)

  • Genuine passion for supporting others and a person-centred approach to care

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • A flexible, reliable, and compassionate attitude

  • Previous experience in a domiciliary or community care setting is desirable but not essential

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality care in accordance with individual care plans

  • Support clients with personal care, mobility, medication prompts, and meal preparation

  • Build trusting relationships with clients and their families, offering both practical and emotional support

  • Promote independence, dignity, and respect in every interaction

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and care coordinators to ensure consistent, safe care delivery

  • Accurately record care notes and report any changes in health or wellbeing
