Your Role:

We are looking for a reliable and motivated individual to join our team as a Healthcare Assistant in our busy dialysis unit.

This role involves much more than patient care - you’ll help keep the unit running smoothly by managing stock and supplies, supporting housekeeping tasks, and preparing the clinical area ready for patients attending their dialysis treatment.

This is a hands-on, rewarding role in a fast-paced environment. Whether you have previous experience or new to healthcare, we’ll provide the training and support you need to succeed!

Key Details:

Location: Basingstoke Dialysis Unit, Unit 7 The Ringway Centre, Edison Road, Basingstoke, RG21 6YH. Free parking available on site.

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Saturday on a rolling rota. No Sunday or night shifts!
3 x 11.5 hour shifts per week plus an additional top up shift every month.
Long Day = 06:45 - 18:15

Salary: £23,615 per annum.

Your main responsibilities:

• Provide general assistance to nursing staff with patient care in the treatment room.
• Liaise with transport and other departments in order to arrange appointments.
• Support the unit routine, by escorting patients to the wards, blood specimens and pharmacy errands.
• Monitor and record patients’ weights pre and post dialysis.
• Prepare and serve patients with refreshments.
• Preparation of the clinical area.
• Maintain stocks and supplies within the treatment areas.
• Undertake housekeeping duties.

• Team player with the ability to work unsupervised using your own initiative.
• Willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to demonstrate empathy and sympathy.
• Be detail focused with the ability to meet daily deadlines.
• Flexible to cover the needs of the patients/unit.
