We are currently recruiting for an Installation & Commissioning Engineer on behalf of a specialist utility services company who provide installation, maintenance, metering and billing services to customers throughout the Uk.

The Installations & Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for in-property and site-based activities, focusing on the installation, retrofitting, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Credit & PrePayment metering systems to support heat networks. This role ensures efficient system performance, compliance with industry standards, and seamless integration with existing infrastructure. Additionally, the engineer will provide technical support, diagnose faults, and collaborate with stakeholders to optimise system reliability and functionality.
This is a permanent position, covering London, working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week. The basic salary is paying £36k - £40k per annum depending on experience. They also offer a £6k KPI related bonus - up to £1500 is paid quarterly. Responsibilities
* Install & commission: Deploy IT and PAYG smart metering systems on new build and residential sites.
* Configure and maintain AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) systems including dataloggers, gateways, routers, repeaters, and IP power devices.
* Retrofit and rewire existing Credit & PrePayment systems for optimal performance.
* Maintain & troubleshoot: Diagnose and resolve technical issues with smart metering and RF networks.
* Carry out scheduled maintenance and respond to callouts.
* Work closely with third parties, including ISPs, BT, and cloud service providers, to ensure smooth system operation.
* Technical support & training: Provide expert technical advice to internal teams and clients.
* Deliver hands‑on training to ensure confident, compliant system use and upkeep.
Skills & Attributes
* Smart metering or plumbing experience is essential.
* Electrical experience and knowledge is desirable.
* Must hold CSCS card (or able to get one).
* Confident in working independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong problem‑solving abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team interactions.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
