Gas Engineer – 3 Month Rolling Contract

Summary

Responsibilities

• Execute gas installations, maintenance, servicing, and repairs in both occupied and vacant properties.
  


• Conduct responsive, emergency, and planned maintenance tasks.
  


• Perform testing, inspections, and necessary remedial work.
  


• Ensure compliance with:

  • Industry standards and procedures
    
  
  


• Complete certifications, reports, and job documentation using mobile technology.
  


• Order materials and identify additional work requirements.
  


• Efficiently manage vehicle stock and materials.
  


• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good condition.
  


• Follow health and safety policies, RAMS, and safe work systems.
  


• Adhere to asbestos awareness procedures and training.
  


• Provide excellent customer service while working in residents' homes.

• Range Cooker Qualification
  


• Unvented Hot Water Qualification
  


• Current Gas Safe Registration
  

Essential

• Demonstrated experience in gas installations and repairs.
  


• Background in housing maintenance environments.
  


• Strong knowledge of gas safety legislation and regulations.
  


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  


• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  


• Awareness of health and safety practices.
  


• Proficiency in using handheld/mobile devices for work documentation.
  


• Full UK Driving Licence.
  


• Willingness to join an out-of-hours call-out rota as needed.
  

Desirable

• Completion of a time-served apprenticeship.
  


• Experience in the social housing sector.
