Heating Engineer - Glasgow/Ayr - Salary up to £42,000 DOE
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Heating Service Engineer to join a growing engineering team.
This is a mobile, field-based position, primarily covering the West of Scotland, with occasional travel across Scotland and, where required, other parts of the UK.
The role offers the opportunity to work across a varied range of domestic and commercial heating systems, with additional training available in renewable technologies including biomass boilers and heat pump systems.
Key Responsibilities: Carry out planned servicing and maintenance of domestic and commercial heating systems. Attend reactive breakdowns and diagnose faults across a range of heating equipment. Complete repairs and maintenance safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Work on gas and oil-fired appliances, heating systems and associated equipment. Service and maintain pumps, expansion vessels, pressurisation units and associated mechanical systems. Work with gas supply installations, oil storage and supply systems. Install heating appliances, pipework and associated ancillary equipment. Carry out fault finding and problem solving across mechanical and heating systems. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Gas Safety Regulations, health & safety requirements and relevant industry standards. Complete accurate electronic job reports and service documentation. Liaise professionally with customers and clients while delivering a high standard of customer service. Support installation projects and other engineering works as required. Develop knowledge and experience in biomass and air/ground source heat pump technology, with training provided where required.Person Specification: Experience working with domestic and commercial heating systems. Relevant Domestic and Commercial Gas qualifications. A relevant SVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification. Strong practical experience in heating, gas, oil or mechanical engineering. Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills. The ability to work independently while managing a mobile workload. Strong communication and customer service skills. A full UK driving licence.Desirable Experience: Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:
Biomass boilers and fuel delivery systems. Air source and ground source heat pumps. OFTEC qualifications. Renewable heating technologies. Commercial heating installations.Salary & Benefits: Permanent, full-time position paying up to £42,000 DOE Company vehicle and fuel card. 30 days' annual leave. Company pension scheme.
