Salary: £35,451- £39,165 (pro rata for part-time) (pay award pending)

Working Hours: Thursday and Friday 9-5pm - however other days may be required

Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic and creative heritage educator to develop and deliver inspiring formal and informal learning opportunities to a range of audiences across our sites, leading to increased engagement with our amazing local cultural and historical heritage.        

Under the leadership of the Access and Interpretation Manager, you will develop and deliver innovative learning opportunities across our 5 heritage sites- Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre, 1620s House and Garden at Donington le Heath, Melton Carnegie Museum, Harborough Museum and Charnwood Museum, building strong relationships with the Access and Interpretation team, volunteers, local communities and a wide range of partners. 

This post is part-time, working mainly Thursday and Friday during the business hours of the sites, with flexibility for the occasional weekend and evening working as required in line with business requirements..

An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.

About You

To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:

• NVQ Level 4 (or higher) that is relevant to the role or the equivalent level of experience as detailed below.


• Experience of developing, delivering and evaluating family-based learning activities.


• Experience of developing, delivering and evaluating curriculum-based workshops or resources. 


• Proven ability to lead, motivate, develop and performance manage staff and volunteers.


• Budget management experience.


• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, including the ability to resolve conflict and report writing.


• Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
