The Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join an established recycling and environmental services business.

The role will involve completing commercial collection routes, working independently while maintaining a safe, reliable and professional service.

This would suit an experienced Class 1 driver who is comfortable with early starts, longer shifts and multi-site collection work, and who is looking for a stable permanent position with overtime available.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

Completing scheduled commercial collection routes

*

Carrying out daily vehicle and safety checks

*

Ensuring collections are completed safely and efficiently

*

Operating vehicles used for different types of commercial waste collections

*

Working with collection equipment including RORO vehicles where required

*

Reporting vehicle defects, route issues or operational problems to the Transport team

*

Maintaining accurate paperwork and driver records

*

Ensuring vehicles are operated safely and in line with relevant transport regulations

*

Providing a professional service when attending customer sites

About You

Essential

*

Valid HGV Class 1 / Category C+E licence

*

Valid Driver CPC

*

Valid Digital Tachograph Card

*

Good understanding of drivers' hours and road transport regulations

*

Comfortable completing urban and multi-site commercial collection routes

*

Comfortable with early starts from around 3:00am

*

Reliable and able to work independently

*

Able to commit to shifts of a minimum of 10 hours

Preferred

*

Previous RORO / Roll-on Roll-off experience

*

Previous commercial waste or recycling experience

*

Experience operating specialist collection vehicles or equipment

*

Previous experience completing multi-site or collection-based routes

Previous waste-sector experience is useful but is not essential for the right experienced HGV driver.

Package

£53,000 per annum

Permanent, full-time position

Minimum 10-hour shifts Monday to Friday

Early starts, typically from around 3:00am

Overtime available every second Saturday

*

Overtime paid at time and one-third
