First Military Recruitment are currently seeking experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers on behalf of one of our established logistics clients.
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional and reliable Class 1 Day Driver looking for a secure, permanent position with a well-established organisation in the South Ockendon area.
The successful candidate will become part of a professional transport operation, working alongside an experienced team and playing an important role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods. We are looking for drivers who take pride in their work, maintain high standards of safety and professionalism, and are committed to providing a reliable service.
This position would suit an experienced Class 1 driver who is looking for consistent daytime work and a long-term permanent opportunity. You will be expected to operate to a high standard, maintain excellent vehicle care and ensure all duties are completed safely and efficiently.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a Class 1 vehicle during day shifts, ensuring all duties are completed in line with company procedures and relevant transport legislation.
Key responsibilities include:
Safely operating Class 1 vehicles during day shifts Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects Ensuring all relevant transport and delivery documentation is completed accurately Complying with drivers' hours, tachograph and road transport legislation Maintaining a high standard of vehicle care and presentation Ensuring loads are transported safely and securely Working closely with the transport and depot teams Maintaining a professional approach when representing the company Ensuring all duties are completed safely, efficiently and within required timeframes Requirements
Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence Valid Digital Tachograph Card Valid Driver CPC Previous Class 1 HGV driving experience – essential Previous day driving experience – desirable Previous trunking experience – desirable Previous shunting experience – desirable Good knowledge of UK roads Reliable and professional approach to work Good communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a wider transport team Benefits
