CONTAINER WORK

As an HGV Class 1 Night Driver, you’ll carry out overnight deliveries, handling loads safely and keeping each journey organised. You’ll use your driving skills to transport goods reliably and communicate clearly with colleagues about progress or delivery issues. Your impact: dependable deliveries help customers receive their goods as expected and enable colleagues to plan the next stage of work.

Duties

* Drive an HGV Class 1 vehicle on planned night-time delivery routes, following road safety requirements and agreed procedures.

* Load, secure and unload goods, including flatbed loads, checking that they are stable and handled carefully.

* Complete delivery paperwork and vehicle checks, reporting damage, delays or faults promptly.

* Keep colleagues informed of progress and any changes that may affect deliveries.

Experience

Experience with container work is essential

Required: Practical driving capability, safe load handling, attention to detail and clear communication are important for completing deliveries and recording information accurately. Preferred: Commercial driving experience, delivery driver experience and familiarity with flatbed work will help you adapt to varied loads and routes
