HGV Class 1 Trunking Driver

Location: Plymouth

Shifts Available:
Monday to Friday OR
Tuesday to Saturday

Pay Rates:
£16.89 per hour
Overtime (after 48 hours): £19.42 per hour
Saturday & Sunday: £19.42 per hour
Bank Holidays: £33.78 per hour

8 hours guaranteed per shift

We are currently seeking professional HGV Class 1 Drivers for trunking work operating from Plymouth.

This is a straightforward trunking role with fixed routes and start times, ideal for drivers looking for consistent work and excellent earning potential.

Your Time at Work
Available Routes:
Day Trunk Driver
12:00 midday start
Plymouth to Avonmouth and return

Night Trunk Driver
18:00 start
Plymouth to Bodmin
Bodmin to Avonmouth
Return to Plymouth

Duties Include:
Trunking between distribution centres
Completing vehicle safety checks
Ensuring accurate completion of transport paperwork
Adhering to all driver hours and road transport regulation

Our Perfect Worker
Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
Minimum 3 months' commercial Class 1 driving experience
Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
No more than 6 penalty points
No major endorsements, including:
DD (Drink Driving)
CD (Careless Driving)
Driving without due care and attention
Other serious motoring offences

All successful drivers will complete a structured 3-week induction programme:

Week 1
Driving assessment
Classroom-based training
Completion of operational paperwork and SSOW training
Weeks 2 & 3
Working alongside an experienced driver
Familiarisation with routes, procedures and site requirements

8 hours guaranteed per shift
33 days holiday entitlement
