HGV Class 2 Driver (Builders Merchant)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 2 (Cat C) Driver to join a well-established builders merchant based in Portsmouth.

This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate, delivering building materials to customers across Portsmouth and the surrounding areas. If you’re an experienced Class 2 driver looking for a long-term position with the opportunity to become permanent, we’d love to hear from you!

Requirements:

* Valid Class 2 (HGV/LGV, Category C) driving licence

* Valid CPC and Tacho Card

* Previous commercial driving experience

* Experience delivering building materials, builders merchant products or similar would be advantageous

* Good knowledge of Portsmouth and surrounding areas

* Excellent customer service and communication skills

* Physically fit, as some manual handling will be involved

* A professional and reliable approach to work

Key Responsibilities:

* Safely load, transport and deliver building materials to customers

* Carry out deliveries to building sites, trade customers and private customers

* Assist with loading and unloading goods where required

* Complete vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is operated safely at all times

* Provide excellent customer service when making deliveries

* Follow all relevant company and road safety procedures

* Work efficiently to meet scheduled delivery times
