HGV Class 2 SCV Driver

The Recruitment Crowd is currently recruiting on behalf of our well-known and industry-leading client based in the Exeter area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 2 SCV Drivers (CAT C) to join the team.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 6am start approx.

Pay Rate: £16.40 per hour

Location: Exeter, EX2

Job Type: Ongoing with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate

The role:

· Collect clinical waste from various healthcare facilities, including care homes and hospitals

. This work will entail dealing with offensive nappy waste from 1100 bins and drivers will be required to tip into the SCV

· Prepare the vehicle for daily operations.

· Utilise a compaction vehicle for waste disposal.

· Perform local collections, wheeling bins to the back of the truck, and operating the bin pick-up mechanism.

· Use a PDA for tracking and recording collections.

· Depending on the volume, complete 35 to 60 collections during your shift.

· Maintain physical fitness, as the role will be physically demanding and may include heavy lifting

Requirements:

· Full UK driving licence with Class 2 entitlement (category C).

· Have at least 1 year of experience driving the relevant vehicle.

· Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.

· No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).

· Full understanding of WTD legislation.

· Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.

· Willingness to learn and adapt to our waste management processes.

· Availability for early morning shifts and occasional weekend work.

· Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.

· Physical fitness and capability to handle waste containers.
