Our client, a top brand Truck and Van dealer offering comprehensive solutions for the sale, service and repair of commercial vehicles, is seeking for a HGV Driver Class1 to join their team.

The ideal candidate's main role is the collection and delivery of customer vehicles as well as maintenance in the garage, assisting with yard manoeuvres.

Role: HGV Driver Class 1

Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 per annum

Hours: 4 Nights (48 Hours) - Alternate Mon-Thurs, Tues-Fri

Location: Hull

Key Responsibilities:

• collection and delivery of customer vehicles
• Adhoc duties; maintenance in the garage, assisting with yard manoeuvres
• Report and record any vehicle defects or issues.
• Ensure the lorry is clean, roadworthy, and compliant with DVSA regulations.
• Secure and check loads for correct weight distribution and safe transport.
• Occasionally assist with loading/unloading using tail lifts or pallet trucks (depending on role).
• Drive long-distance routes between depots or client locations, often motorways and A-roads.
• Adhere to all speed limits, driving laws, and rest period regulations.
• Meet scheduled delivery or collection times, often working to tight overnight deadlines.
• Plan routes efficiently and deal with unexpected delays (e.g. road closures or weather).

Requirements:

• HGV class 1 licence is required for this position.
• Driver-CPC would be an advantage
• must have a high level of motivation along with the ability to promote and sell our business.
