HGV & Plant Mechanic

The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced HGV & Motor Vehicle / Plant Mechanic to join a busy fleet workshop environment.

The role focuses on the maintenance, inspection and repair of a mixed fleet of HGVs, motor vehicles and plant equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You’ll be working both within a workshop setting and attending occasional roadside or site -based repairs, so flexibility and a practical mindset are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs, vehicles and plant
  

• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs efficiently
  

• Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards
  

• Supporting workshop productivity and service deadlines
  

• Maintaining a clean, safe and compliant working environment
  

Essential Requirements

• Apprentice -trained motor vehicle mechanic or
  
  City & Guilds 380/383 (Level 2), NVQ Level 3, or equivalent
  

• LGV Class C or C+E licence or willingness to work towards
  

• Good literacy and numeracy skills
  

• Strong health & safety awareness
  

• Reliable, flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities
  

• Professional attitude with good customer service skills
  

Working Conditions

• Physically demanding role including lifting, bending, kneeling and manual handling
  

• Workshop -based with regular outdoor and roadside work
  

• All -weather working required
