HGV Night Shift Technician Hours: 44 hours per week Shift Pattern: Tuesday - Friday, 7:30pm - 7:00am The Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Night Shift Technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle workshop. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a range of commercial vehicles to a high standard. The role requires a confident and experienced technician who can work independently, accurately diagnose faults and complete repairs safely and efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for an HGV Technician looking for a permanent night-shift position within a modern workshop environment. Key Responsibilities ·Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults on commercial vehicles. ·Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards. ·Use modern diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify vehicle faults. ·Complete scheduled safety inspections and identify any additional repairs required. ·Repair and replace faulty components and vehicle parts. ·Work on mechanical, electrical and vehicle subsystem faults. ·Follow the repair process from initial fault diagnosis through to completion. ·Complete job cards and workshop documentation accurately. ·Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales. ·Support other Technicians within the workshop where required. ·Carry out inspections and preventative maintenance. ·Maintain high standards of workmanship and vehicle safety. Requirements ·City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. ·Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Truck Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician. ·Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills. ·Experience using modern diagnostic equipment. ·Previous experience working on commercial vehicles, trucks or heavy vehicles. ·Ability to diagnose faults with minimal supervision. ·Excellent problem-solving skills. ·Strong attention to detail. ·Ability to follow workshop procedures and manufacturer guidelines. ·Good communication skills. ·Full UK Driving Licence. ·Experience with manufacturer-specific diagnostic systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
