HGV Technician

Job Title: HGV TechnicianLocation: Dudley, West Midlands
Salary: £40,000 - 45,000
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday (flexibility available)

About the Company: Our client, a well-established and respected business in the commercial vehicle sector, is currently seeking an experienced and reliable HGV Technician to join their team in the Dudley area. The Role: As a key member of the workshop team, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a range of heavy goods vehicles to the highest standards. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who takes pride in their work and is committed to vehicle safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out inspections, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on HGVs
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure compliance with DVSA standards
• Diagnose faults using specialist diagnostic equipment
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Liaise with the service team to report on progress and any additional work needed
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations in the workshop
• Support junior team members if required

Candidate Requirements:

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
• Previous experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic is essential
• Strong diagnostic skills and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Full UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 or 2 licence desirable)
• Ability to work efficiently and as part of a team
• Flexible attitude and willingness to work overtime where needed
