Location: Walton-on-Thames area
Salary: £47,000 – £53,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm (1-hour unpaid break)
Overtime available at T1.5

We’re looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join an independent commercial vehicle workshop in the Walton-on-Thames area.
This is a proper hands-on role for someone who enjoys fixing trucks, solving problems and occasionally wondering why someone thought a particular component needed to be hidden in the most inaccessible place possible.
You’ll be joining a small team of three in a well-equipped workshop, working predominantly on HGVs, with the occasional LCV and fleet car thrown into the mix.
The Role
You’ll be carrying out general repairs, servicing and maintenance across a varied HGV workload.
The workshop has two pits and all the equipment you’d expect, so you’ll have what you need to get the job done properly. You’ll need to bring your own hand tools, as any decent technician would probably refuse to leave home without them anyway.
The work is varied; the team is small and there’s plenty of opportunity for overtime if you fancy adding a few extra quid to the payslip.
And yes, there will probably be the occasional job where the customer says, “It’s only making a little noise.”
We all know how that one ends.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an experienced HGV Technician who knows their way around a truck and can diagnose a problem without resorting to the traditional “give it a wiggle and see what happens” method.
* Proven experience working on HGVs
* Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
* HGV licence would be advantageous
* IRTEC qualification would be beneficial
* Own hand tools
* Able to work independently and as part of a small team
* Reliable, professional and quality-focused
* Someone who takes pride in doing a job properly

* £47,000 – £53,000 salary, depending on experience
