Role Summary: Our client is seeking 10 experienced HGV Technicians to join a leading commercial vehicle maintenance business. This is a home-start role where technicians are fully equipped with a company van, fuel card, tools, diagnostic equipment, company phone, and tablet. The role focuses primarily on trailer maintenance and repair, along with work on HGVs and trucks. Candidates with tail lift or double deck trailer experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
Scope/Working Area: Technicians will cover a designated territory typically within 60-90 minutes of their home address, carrying out maintenance and repair work on commercial trailers, HGVs, and trucks, with occasional work on vans and light commercial vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out inspections, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on commercial trailers.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
* Perform routine preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
* Service and repair HGVs and trucks.
* Complete occasional repairs and maintenance on vans and light commercial vehicles.
* Utilise diagnostic equipment, including Jaltest systems.
* Maintain accurate service records and job documentation.
* Ensure all work complies with industry regulations and company standards.
* Travel to customer sites within the assigned coverage area.
Required Experience:
* Minimum 5 years' experience as an HGV, Trailer, or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability.
* Experience servicing and repairing commercial trailers and HGVs.
* Ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
* Tail lift maintenance and repair experience is highly desirable.
* Double deck trailer experience is highly desirable and will significantly strengthen applications.
* Previous experience using Jaltest diagnostics is beneficial but not essential, as training can be provided.
Qualifications/Certifications:
* IRTEC Accreditation (Essential)
* Full UK Driving Licence.
