HGV1 Hiab Driver

About the role

Prime Placers are recruiting on behalf of a leading equipment supplier to the film and TV industry. They are looking for an experienced HIAB Driver to deliver, load and unload production equipment to studios, sound stages and on-location unit bases across the UK.

This is a varied, fast-paced role where no two days are the same. You'll be working around live production schedules, so reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude on set are essential.

Key responsibilities

* Safely drive a HIAB-equipped rigid or artic vehicle to studios, sets and location sites

* Load, lift and unload equipment using the HIAB crane, including lighting, generators, rigging, grip equipment, cabins, set pieces and staging

* Plan lifts, assess ground conditions and position the vehicle safely on tight or unfamiliar sites

* Secure all loads correctly in line with load restraint and lifting regulations

* Complete daily vehicle and crane checks, reporting any defects promptly

* Liaise with production, location and facilities teams on arrival and collection times

* Complete delivery paperwork, lift records and tachograph records accurately

* Represent the company professionally on set, working discreetly around cast and crew

Requirements

* Valid Class 2 (C) licence - Class 1 (C+E) advantageous

* HIAB / lorry loader certification (ALLMI or equivalent)

* Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card

* No more than [X] points on licence

* Proven HIAB experience, ideally with site or event deliveries

* Comfortable with early starts, long days and flexible hours to suit shoot schedules

* Good communication and a calm, problem-solving attitude under time pressure

* Film, TV or events industry experience is a big plus but not essential
