Job Description - Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Teaching Tomorrow, a reliable and popular education agency specialists, are keen to connect with a number of Leighton Buzzard/ Dunstable based experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA), for various work across the local area.

 

Here at Teaching Tomorrow we understand the importance and positive impact HLTAs make in the classroom and feel they are as fundamental as the class teacher. Now working with a number of schools looking for key stage 3 HLTAs, Teaching Tomorrow are keen to connect with experienced support staff looking for a longer term, full time role or flexible opportunities.

 

The ideal HLTA will have previous experience working within a school setting, committed to the individual they are supporting and the keenness to go the extra mile, helping them to navigate their educational journey and achieve their full potential. Previous SEND, 1-2-1 and small group experience would be desirable, but not essential.

Requirements:

 

- Previous experience working as a HLTA or LSA,
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special education (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools),
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents,
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with diverse learning needs,
- Ability to adapt to the individual needs and learning styles of students,
- A commitment to continuous professional development and learning.

 

Teaching Tomorrow is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All applicants are subject to pre-employment checks including satisfactory references and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.
