The Role - Higher Level Teaching Assistant
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for covering whole classes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring lessons run smoothly and pupils remain on task. You will deliver pre-planned lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and create a positive learning environment. In addition to class cover, you will lead small group interventions to support pupil progress and help close learning gaps. You will also work within the classroom alongside the teacher, supporting learning and maintaining engagement across a range of abilities. This role requires a confident, proactive, and adaptable individual who can take initiative, manage a classroom effectively, and build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
