With a supportive working environment, strong regional presence and a commitment to professional development, this is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact on project delivery.
The Opportunity
My client is a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering projects across highways, infrastructure, water, environmental and flood defence sectors.
As a Regional Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring project programmes remain accurate, contractually compliant and aligned with site progress. You will work closely with site teams, project managers and regional leadership to identify programme risks, manage change and support the successful delivery of civil engineering projects.
You will also have the opportunity to influence planning processes, support tender submissions and mentor colleagues developing their planning expertise.
What You'll Be Doing
·Reviewing project programmes monthly to ensure progress, changes and contractual requirements are accurately recorded.
·Maintaining and updating construction programmes using Microsoft Project and/or Asta Powerproject.
·Working closely with site management teams to monitor project progress and review short-term look-ahead programmes.
·Identifying programme risks, delays and opportunities while supporting effective mitigation strategies.
·Reviewing contractual notices, project change registers and risk and opportunity registers.
·Supporting Extension of Time (EOT) claims and ensuring programme-related contractual entitlements are appropriately recorded.
·Providing technical advice on construction methodologies, project sequencing and programme optimisation.
·Supporting pre-construction and tender teams with planning, construction methodologies and bid programmes.
·Working alongside regional management to improve planning procedures, reporting and delivery processes.
·Mentoring and supporting colleagues looking to develop their planning capabilities.
What You'll Need
To succeed as a Regional Planner, you will ideally bring:
·Previous experience in construction planning within the civil engineering sector.
·Practical site experience and a strong understanding of construction delivery.
·Experience using Microsoft Project and/or Asta Powerproject.
·A good working knowledge of NEC contracts and programme-related contractual requirements.
·Experience reviewing construction programmes, managing project changes and supporting delay or EOT claims.
·The ability to communicate effectively with site teams, project managers and senior stakeholders.
·Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
·A full UK driving licence.
Experience working on water, environmental or flood defence projects would be particularly advantageous.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: Competitive - Dependent on Experience
You will benefit from a comprehensive package designed to support your professional development and work-life balance, including:
·Company car or car allowance.
·Company pension scheme with employer matching contributions of up to 8%.
·25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase additional leave.
·Life assurance worth four times your annual salary.
·Hybrid working arrangements.
·Extensive training and professional development opportunities.
·Employee Assistance Programme.
·Cycle-to-work scheme.
·Employee benefits platform.
·Free on-site parking.
·Regular company social events and charity activities.
·Early finish every Friday.
Your Next Career Move

You will gain exposure to regional leadership, contribute to strategic planning decisions and develop your expertise in NEC contracts, programme management and construction delivery.
With continued investment in training and development, you will have the opportunity to progress your career within an established and growing civil engineering business.
