Senior Engineer - Highways & Civil Engineering

Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

My client is looking for a Senior Engineer to join their project delivery team in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity to take technical ownership of works on highways and infrastructure schemes whilst supporting the successful delivery of construction projects.
The Opportunity
My client is an established contractor specialising in highways and civil engineering, delivering infrastructure schemes with a focus on safety, quality and programme delivery.
As a Senior Engineer, you will be working closely with the site management team, providing technical guidance, coordinating engineering activities and ensuring construction works are delivered accurately and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
·Overseeing setting out activities and ensuring works are delivered in accordance with construction drawings and specifications.
·Managing and supporting Site Engineers and junior engineering staff.
·Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and construction methodologies.
·Coordinating engineering activities with Site Agents, Foremen and subcontractors.
·Ensuring appropriate quality assurance procedures, inspections and records are maintained.
·Supporting the preparation and review of risk assessments and method statements.
·Identifying and resolving technical issues to minimise disruption to programme delivery.
·Liaising with project teams to ensure materials, resources and engineering requirements are coordinated effectively.
·Monitoring construction progress and ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety and quality standards.
What You'll Need
·Previous experience as a Senior Engineer or an experienced Site Engineer ready to progress.
·Strong experience delivering highways, infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
·Excellent technical knowledge of setting out, construction drawings and quality assurance procedures.
·Experience supporting or supervising junior engineering staff.
·Confidence working alongside site management teams and subcontractors.
·Relevant civil engineering qualifications or equivalent practical experience.
·Appropriate CSCS certification and a strong understanding of site health and safety.
