Salary: £37,000 - £40,000 per annum

Location: Sheffield

Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Highways Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. The main duties will include levelling and surveying construction sites, setting out project locations, and mapping structural boundaries on the ground. These responsibilities are crucial for maintaining the structural integrity and safety of the highway network.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.
• Maintain effective communication with the client team, providing regular progress reports on schemes.
• Conduct levelling and surveying of construction sites.
• Accurately set out project locations based on plans, drawings, and building information models.
• Map structural boundaries on the ground with precision.
• Utilise levelling techniques to solve onsite challenges.
• Review completed scheme designs and offer buildability advice as necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Drivers licence.
• Site surveying experience.
• An organised team player with the ability to communicate well with others.
• Engineering qualification minimum of HNC, or equivalent.
• Highway construction background.
• Experience of operating Leica Total Stations (desirable).
• Operational Health and Safety experience or qualifications (desirable).
