Do you have experience working within streetworks, highways or construction and strong organisational and administrative skills?
We’re recruiting a Highways Facilitator to join a small, busy team supporting major water and infrastructure works.
You’ll provide a mixture of site and office-based support, helping to coordinate streetworks, permits, traffic management and compliance while building strong relationships with local authorities, contractors and internal teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Support streetworks activities and wider team operations
* Submit accurate permit applications within required timescales
* Monitor works to ensure compliance with agreed schedules, safety standards and permit conditions
* Liaise with local authorities, utility companies and contractors to coordinate highway works
* Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Coordinate traffic management requirements to minimise disruption and maintain safe working environments
* Attend site meetings to discuss and agree traffic management and permits with local authorities
* Manage Fixed Penalty Notices and support the resolution of non-compliance issues, including Section 74 fines
* Work with Site Managers, Contract Managers, Project Managers and Supervisors to maintain statutory compliance
* Monitor quality and compliance and produce weekly and monthly reports
* Complete general administration and maintain relevant corporate systems
* Provide holiday cover for other roles within the team
* Support and coach colleagues on streetworks best practice
* Monitor and manage the recording and rectification of defects
* Contribute to maintaining high standards of health and safety
What We’re Looking For
* Previous occupational experience within a construction, highways or streetworks environment
* Full UK driving licence – essential
* Strong organisational and administrative skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to manage competing priorities and remain focused under pressure
* Confident communicating with internal and external stakeholders
* Professional, approachable and courteous manner
* Ability to adapt communication style depending on the audience
* Proactive “can do / will do” attitude
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Desirable:
* Streetworks qualification
* Previous experience working with permits, traffic management or local authorities
* Experience dealing with Fixed Penalty Notices or Section 74 requirements
