A well-established highways maintenance contractor is seeking an experienced Highways Safety Inspector to support the safe operation and maintenance of the local highway network. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy team responsible for ensuring the network remains safe for all users.

Your new role
As a Highways Safety Inspector, you will play a key role in monitoring highway conditions, identifying defects, and ensuring appropriate action is taken to maintain network safety.

Key responsibilities include:

Undertaking routine and reactive highway safety inspections
Identifying and recording defects in line with inspection standards
Responding to emergency incidents and supporting operational teams
Providing front-line support to stakeholders and members of the public
Preparing accurate inspection records and reports
Liaising with delivery teams to ensure remedial works are completed
Promoting safe working practices and compliance with health and safety requirements
What you'll need to succeed

LANTRA Highway Safety Inspector qualification
Experience in highway maintenance and emergency response environments
Strong IT skills with the ability to maintain accurate records
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to analyse information and resolve problems effectively
Confidence working with stakeholders, customers, and members of the public
Professional, diplomatic, and approachable manner
