I am looking for a qualified History Teacher to support a secondary school in the Glastonbury area, delivering high quality History education across relevant year groups. You will be joining a school that values the importance of a strong curriculum, where History is taught with enthusiasm and academic depth. Teachers are expected to plan engaging lessons that develop critical thinking, encourage students to question and independent learning. A passion for the subject and strong behavioural management is essential..

This role is full time and the start date is September. The opportunity suited to experienced teachers as well as confident ECTs who are eager to contribute to a dynamic, knowledge rich subject area. Opportunities are available for those looking for full - time, long term work.

Responsibilities :

• Planning and preparing lessons and activities.

• Teaching in accordance with national curriculum and school standards.

• Setting and marking work carried out by students.

• Assessing and reporting on the development and progress of students.

• Work collaboratively with the History department and wider staff.

Requirements :

• QTS

• Passion for the subject

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• Experience working in secondary schools

• Strong subject knowledge and lesson delivery skills.

• Effective classroom and behaviour management

• Understanding of safeguarding procedures.
