HLTA Opportunity - Join Our Dedicated Team
We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and experienced HLTA to join our friendly and supportive primary school in Gillingham, Kent. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified HLTA to make a significant impact across our school, working with pupils from Reception through to Year 5.
This full-time, permanent HLTA position is available for an immediate start. The successful HLTA will support teaching and learning across the primary phase, deliver targeted interventions, and provide high-quality classroom support while working closely with teachers and senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities of the HLTA
Support high-quality teaching and learning across Reception to Year 5.
Deliver lessons and learning activities as directed by class teachers.
Undertake whole-class teaching and cover responsibilities in the absence of teachers when required.
Lead targeted interventions for individuals and small groups.
Support pupils with a range of educational needs to achieve their full potential.
Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress.
Assist in planning, preparing, and evaluating learning activities.
Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents, and external professionals.
The Successful HLTA Will:
Hold HLTA status or an equivalent recognised qualification.
Have recent experience working as an HLTA or in a similar role within a primary school setting.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
Be confident supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Build positive and productive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
Be adaptable, proactive, and committed to improving outcomes for all children.
Share our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
